January 20, 2010:
Well, what can I say?... The Redbird Kids are doing quite well this year! Gaby is sitting 1st in points for her class, while "The Boys" are each sitting in a 3rd place season spot. We'll have to see how the rest of the season plays out. Keagan is ready to retire the 300 for the more powerful 550... Grant is bound, but not determined to wreck his Arctic Cat as he is really giving it a beating this year. Barett is doing well in ProStock, and last weekend we saw an "all girl" podium in Improved Stock..."Way to go Ladies!"

Well, what can I say?... Other than quoting the Long Range Forecast at www.almanac.com/weather/longrange... "Winter will be about a degree colder than normal, on average, despite a number of mild periods. The coldest periods will occur in the second week of December, early to mid-January, mid- to late January, and mid-February. Precipitation and snowfall will be below normal in the east and above normal in the west. Watch for a snowstorm around Thanksgiving, with other snowy periods in early and late December, late January, mid-February, and mid-March." That's just fine with me...
March 16, 2009:
Well, what can I say?...After taking the trip north to race the ISOC National, (Keagan was the #2 Qualifier in the 300cc Final) We did it again. We pulled the trailer from it's winter storage spot (WTC #36) and headed North yet again, this time to race the last stop of the GNSS (Great Northern Snocross Series) www.GNSSRACING.com. Keagan raced quite well in the 300 heat races, mostly taking 2nd or 3rd. On Saturday the 300cc Final Curse set in and he went down with one lap to go. Fortunately, on Sunday he finaled out taking 3rd in both the 120 Champ class and the (new favorite) 300cc class. It was a fun and rewarding trip!...Thanks ScottyB, Todd, Friday and the rest of the nice people up in Eagle River, WI.
Februrary 5, 2009:
Well, what can I say?...We held the Vintage races on Sunday and let me tell you...Before you go on cheering for your kids in a maniacal fashion...They cant really hear you on the track!...Although I was able to hear Jeff Gorden pretty clearly... and Troy calling for a "HeelClicker!"...(Yeah that's gonna happen) Anyway...the track pulls you into a zone and it is much harder than you think...Even the 120 stockers make it look easy and let me tell you...they have no idea what is over the next hill and they can see nothing... So, I for one will take my cheering down a notch and let them do their thing!...without silly distraction. It was a ton of fun and as soon as I can freely move my arms again, I will fill out the paperwork for the next race!
January 19, 2009:
Well, what can I say?...This past weekend was, let's say, a rebuilding weekend. While we did pretty good in the heat races, we had troubles in the finals. The kids had a ton of fun watching Dylan Martin (as did most of us parents). The track was great! We still are puzzled by the use of the radar gun in the 120 classes...But this is an issue that will continue to please some while aggravate others. All-in-all, it was another fun weekend at the track!
We also want to thank Dennis Whiton for filling in as Guest announcer last weekend...He did a really good job, given the last minute notice.
January 14, 2009:
I am thrilled that WTC Semi-Pro Keyton Brewer #710 has offered up his time to teach our kids the basics that are often taken for granted. Keyton says "I would love to help out any litln's that wanna learn. I understand what its like to start from the bottom and get to the top, and what they're going through. I went through it all, along with many other semi-pro riders. I know I could help them all out with their corners, jumping fundamentals, etc. etc. Although its harder to work with them because were not used to the equipment they ride (300's, 120, 440 fans) it can still help to talk and demonstrate. The best training for racing is watching. I learned everything I know by watching faster guys do it, and then trying it. I would be willing to help out maybe on another weeknight, like Tuesdays or Mondays where they can learn on one night, and then practice on another night. All it would take is making sure they have a track to ride." Thanks Keyton!
